This Privacy Policy explains how Comet Painting, Inc., a Georgia corporation ("Comet," "we," "us" or "our"), collects, uses and shares information through cometpaint.com and any related pages (the "Site").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you give us. When you request a proposal, invite us to bid or contact us, we collect what you enter, which may include:

  • your name, company, email address and phone number;
  • your role (for example, property manager or general contractor);
  • details about your property or project; and
  • files you attach, such as photos, drawings or scopes.

1.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting and security providers record basic technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit, to deliver the Site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Our analytics tools also collect information about how you use the Site, as described in Section 5.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • respond to your request and prepare proposals, bids and schedules;
  • contact you by phone call, text message or email about your request or project;
  • manage customer and vendor records, including in our customer relationship management system;
  • operate, secure and improve the Site, and detect spam and fraud; and
  • comply with law and protect our rights.

3. Calls, Texts and Emails

3.1 When you send a form on the Site, we'll call or email you about your request at the contact details you gave.

3.2 We send text messages only if you check the text-message box on a form or otherwise agree to receive them. Texts are about your request or project. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop texts. Agreeing to texts isn't a condition of any purchase.

3.3 No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing described in this Privacy Policy and won't be shared with any third party, except the service providers that send our text messages for us.

3.4 We email you about your request, proposal or project. We send news or offers by email only if you check the email box on a form or otherwise ask for them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by contacting us.

4. How We Share Information

We don't sell your personal information for money. Mobile numbers and text-messaging consent are handled as described in Section 3.3. We share information only:

  • with service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, form processing, email, phone and text messaging, and customer relationship management providers, who may use it only to provide services to us;
  • with Google and Microsoft through the analytics tools described in Section 5. They receive information about how you use the Site, not what you type into our forms, and use it as described in Section 5 and in their own privacy statements;
  • when required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Comet, our customers or others; and
  • in connection with a merger, sale of assets or other business transfer, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies, Analytics and Session Recording

5.1 Cookies. Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our hosting and security provider may set a cookie needed to protect the Site from bots and abuse. The analytics tools described in Sections 5.2 and 5.3 also use cookies and similar technologies. We don't show ads on the Site or use it to target ads to you.

5.2 Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages they view, how long they stay, how they found the Site and their general location, device and browser. Google Analytics sets cookies on our domain (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that give your browser a random identifier, and Google receives your IP address and information about your visit. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization in our Google Analytics account and don't link it to Google advertising products. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data in your browser by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5.3 Microsoft Clarity and session recording. We use Microsoft Clarity, a service of Microsoft Corporation, to find problems on the Site and improve it. Clarity records how you interact with our pages, including clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movements, and uses those records to create session replays (playbacks of a visit) and heatmaps (summaries of where visitors click and scroll). We set Clarity to mask the content of our pages and everything typed into forms, so Clarity doesn't capture what you enter in our forms. Clarity sets cookies on our domain (_clck and _clsk) and Microsoft cookies (including CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR and SM) that give your browser an identifier. Microsoft collects and receives personal information from us through Clarity, including to provide Microsoft Advertising, and uses it as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

5.4 Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies. The Site works with cookies blocked. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity during your visit. For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run without setting analytics cookies.

5.5 Do Not Track. Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no common standard for these signals, the Site doesn't respond to them. Google and Microsoft may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site, through the cookies described in this Section 5.

6. How Long We Keep Information

We keep information as long as needed for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, including keeping business, tax and project records, and then delete or de-identify it. We set Google Analytics to keep data about individual visits for no more than 14 months. Microsoft keeps Clarity data for the periods it sets for that service.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please don't send highly sensitive information, such as Social Security or bank account numbers, through the Site.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you've given us, or to stop contacting you, by contacting us using the details in Section 12. We'll respond as required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. To limit analytics and cookies, see Section 5.4.

9. Children

The Site is meant for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Links to Other Sites

The Site may link to sites we don't control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Changes take effect when posted.
